How to Buy a Decent Guitar for under $300.00 (part 3)

If you have gone through the previous parts to this topic - You've learned some really good information about what to look for, when trying to Buy a Decent/Quality Guitar for under $300.00.

---

---

What to look for is Great.  But, Where do you look???  Over the 16 years that I've Played the Guitar, I've been Blessed to have quite a few Quality Instruments.  Thankfully, We live in the age of the Internet.  The Internet allows many people to sell their 'Un-Wanted' items.  If you are willing to Buy used items -  most cities or larger towns have their own Craigs List page or other  On-line Classified Ads.   I (and quite a few people that I know) have bought products from these places.

---

---

If you decide to go this route, request  the owner of the product to send actual pics of the item that you are trying to buy.  Be very picky about the Pics that you receive.  If you need Pictures that are closer up, request them.  It's 'Best' to be aware of any issues with the Guitar ahead of time.  Many on-line sellers will give information of anything that might not be right/correct with the product/Guitar that your interested in buying.  BUT - It's always a good idea to ask some questions.  Try to find out any surprises ahead of time.

---

Most people are good & won't try to mis-lead you, when you buy of a Classified Ads.  There is always a little risk when buying a used item.  But, for the most part the Risk is Minimal and you could buy an item much Cheaper than new.

Other places to look for Used Guitars are....

------

- Pawn Shops - Remember, if you buy a Guitar at a Pawn Shop - You can talk them down on the Price.  More than likely, they bought the Musical Instrument for VERY CHEAP - like 20 cents on the dollar.  So, if a Pawn Shop has a Guitar tagged at $250.00 - I'd offer $125.00.  This would be the starting offer.  You'll go back & forth and probally agree on $180.00.  Not Bad, you just got this Guitar for $70.00 Cheaper than the price tag!!!

- Garage Sales - It happens from time to time.  Your driving past a Garage Sale & see a Guitar.  Usually, your either going to find a Guitar that you wouldn't want or the owner of the Guitar wants an Arm & a Leg for it.  But, you Never know - you might find a decent Guitar at a decent Price.

- Music Instrument Stores -  I mention this one last due to, it's RARE to find a decent deal.  Most Guitar Shop Owners are trying to sell Used Guitars for about $100.00 Cheaper than a New Guitar.  This might be helpful if the New Guitar is going for $250.00 (which would be $150.00).  But, more than likely you'll be looking at closer to $250-350.00 for a Cheaper Used Guitar through a Musical Instrument Store.  This isn't always the case.  But, in my experience - This is usually how it goes.
